We had a quite great day fishing. Most of the boats had their limits of yellowfin tuna. Our nearshore boats caught blues, sea bass, sharks and a limit of tile. The inshore boat caught some trout, tautogs, and some sharks.
Occur out to the fishing middle anyplace from 3:thirty to 5:00 to see the catches of the day.
Right here we can make your fishing goals come correct!

Some citation sea bass have been weighed in these days by our inshore boats with weights of 5 lbs and five.eight lbs. Along with the citation sea bass there was a citation triggerfish weighed in at five lbs. Nearshore they were shark fishing nowadays and have been fairly profitable. The offshore fleet had good catches of yellowfin tuna today which includes a handful of limitations. Some of the offshore fleet picked up a few tiles on their way in.

Tex’s Tackle fishing report 11-27
Inshore
Speckled trout fishing has been wonderful recently. It is not unususl to catch 20 to 50 fish. Most are underneath dimensions but there is a fair number of keepers combined in. Be informed the size and bag limit has changed. There is a four fish limit for each individual with a bare minimum size of 14 inches and only 2 fish can be around 24 inches in size. Consider Mirrolures in 18, 21, 808 and Electric Chicken (EC)colours. Soft plastics like DOA and Bass Assassin shad tails, Berkley Gulp and Sea Striker 4 inch curl tails rigged on a one/4 oz jig head function just fine. Try out tails with green or blue in them alongside with distinct, white and X-mas Tree. Juice things up with a small Pro Treatment Gel and they bite even far better. Attempt the surf early and late at Topsail and Wrightsville Seashore with Mirrolures. Fish in the two-five pound assortment look to be the norm. Also surf fishing for sea mullet has been really excellent. Flounder and redfish keep on to bite as well. The blues have thinned out fairly but can be caught.
——————————————————————————–
Around Shore
False albacore are off the seaside close to Ten Mile Rock. Local charter boats reported seeing them bustin the surface quite a bit yesterday. Sea bass are thick almost everywhere you go from 5 miles on out but remained closed to possession. Grouper are biting from eighty foot of h2o on out. King Mackerel have demonstrated up extremely effectively lately. Uncover at least 68-73 degree drinking water and you ought to discover the fish. Troll cigar minnows on Blue Water Candy Lifeless Bait Rigs or consider Drone spoons fished thirty-forty feet deep.
——————————————————————————–
Gulf Stream
Journeys to the stream have produced some very good wahoo. Fish up to and above 50 kilos are not uncommon. Blackfin tuna and a number of yellowfin have beeen caught also. Sailfish and Mahi are also staying noted. Jigging for Amberjack is good this time of 12 months as nicely.

Nice gag grouper and the 14/0 circle hook that snagged it!! The best way to determine the right size hook when targeting a specific fish is to make sure that there is enough clearance between the hooks shank and the point on the hook. In this case the hook used was a prefect fit. The reason being is it slipped right over the large lips of the grouper and then did its job of penetrating through the back side of the fishs mouth. I call this an in-line hook up, because the weight or swimming thrust of the fish will not pull the hook free. Now, if the hook was sideway in the face or body area nine times out of ten the fish would pull the hook free.

Surf Fishing Report
Surf fishing from the beach can be lots of fun and it also can get you hooked up with some real interesting fish!
Wassaw Beach is a great place to visit to take a walk, bird watching, swimming, fishing, or just a great place to do a little relaxing. The up side is its a beautiful barrier island to visit for a day. The down side To visit this area you need a boat meaning no bridges built to here!
According to my father most were naked as a J bird!
My father always told our customers as he passed this beach that this was only place where you could legally go naked as a J bird! According to him sunning in the nude on this beach was a favorite pass time. To this day I have never seen or heard of anyone going naked on this beach. However, every time I pass by the beach I always tell the customers the exact same thing. It seems that no one ever asks any questions. However, they do take a serious look and see!
Fishing at the beachfronts!
During this time with water temperatures dropping fish such as Sheepshead, black drum, whiting, and trophy red fish have migrated into the sounds. Most of these fish with the exception of the whiting will make way offshore to school up at the near shore artificial reefs and any isolated wrecks. During this time plain old bottom fishing with small pieces of shrimp its possible to catch whiting while bottom off the beachfronts. I suggest fishing on the bottom with small hooks and small pieces of shrimp for the whiting. I also suggest putting a second rod out while fishing on the bottom with a whole finger mullet or menhaden. Please send any pictures!
Inshore light tackle with Captain Alan Collins of Miss Judy Charters
Captain Alan Collins of Miss Judy Charters is holding up a nice pair. In his right hand is a red fish and in his left is a nice black drum. Both fish were caught in the same area while using live shrimp under small adjustable floats.
Inshore fishing in great
Inshore fishing has been really good with out customers getting to catch a little of everything. The red fish, trout, and flounder bite has been pretty good. To add to this already active bite you can also throw in a Sheepshead and black drum bite or should I say catch! The best and most preferred bait by any of these fish is live shrimp!
Stripers and Wipers!
The striped and hybrid bass bite continues to amazes us fishermen one day and not so much the next. I have been receiving reports of these fish being caught in the Ogeechee River and Savannah River areas. Some inshore fishermen are catching them on live shrimp under traditional adjustable corks while others are using 1 to 2 ounce jig heads. This is one fish that loves to hang out around the structure. The reason being they always have ambush feeding on the mind! With that being said, Pick some structure located in these areas and present your preferred bait.
Please check all regulations for the areas that you plan to fish!!!
Attachment 208899
Alex Hagen is holding up a nice striped bass, which he caught while float fishing in the Savannah River area. Alex and his father Keith come to fish with us every year, which is a very good thing. This father and son duo loves saltwater inshore light tackle and offshore bottom fishing as well as trolling trips. This avid duo fishs freshwater, too. All I can say now is All Fish Beware! Captain Matt Williams (standing in the background) of Miss Judy Charters was their guide for this day. And hopefully next year it will be my turn to take them offshore!
The whiting bite in the sound
Kissing a whiting can fun!!
The whiting bite has been very good and it will only get better as the water cools down. These fish have moved to the sound and can easily be caught when bottom fishing in 15 to 18 feet of water. The best baits are going to be small pieces of peeled shrimp and small pieces of fillet whiting. To keep a solid whiting bite its best to switch up baits every so often!!!
Artificial Reefs
Welcome to Sheepshead Ville
Sheepshead, black drum, flounder, and trophy reds
This is a great time to give these fish try. The best news is that I can tell you are that these fish are schooling around the structure/wrecks. The lower relief such as concrete, tires, and rubble types will hold the interest of the Sheepshead. However, with water temperature above sixties degrees other bites can happen. At this time we have lots of black sea bass that have invaded these areas.
Smoker King Mackerel!
Oldie, but a goody!
This picture was taken during the eighties. Captain Ali Young of Miss Judy Charters is holding what was then and is still now called a smoker king! Back in the old days when we hooked up a big king certain things happened that made you know what you had on the end of your line. The first thing that would happen is the line would be pulled off so quickly that water or should I say steam-a-rose from the reel. Large kings are known for killing their intended meal by hitting it hard and eating it fast while on the run. Another thing that a big king can do is basically cut right through a 20 to 30 pound test leader. The teeth on a smoker king are very strong meaning just like a set of wire cutters!
King mackerel Report
Although I have not seen any current pictures and I have not personally caught any king mackerel according to the talk on the docks there have been a few caught to the south. To the south in my case means J Buoy, R2 Naval tower area, and Gray Reefs. You might just want to give this fishing a try!
Its snag a gag month!!
The gag grouper and The Savannah Snapper Banks
For those that want to do a little grouper fishing now is the time to give this a try. The Savannah Snapper Banks are holding these fish. The secret to getting a groupers attention is to use large live baits on long leaders rigged with a 14/0 circle hook. How do you know when you get a solid grouper bite? The grouper inhales the bait while taking a strong heading back to the safety of the ledge. If you can turn this fish in the first 8 seconds the catching deal is done!!
Steve Howell Scores!!
Genuine red snapper
While fishing the Savannah Snapper banks this pass week Steve Howell caught and released some really nice genuine red snapper. While using a large live sand perch this fish inhaled it and put up one heck of a fight all the way to the boat. Steve landed the fish, we vented it, and then we released it. Please remember genuine red snapper is closed off our coast! However, catching and releasing is still a lot of fun
Blue Water Report
If you get the chance to go I suggest doing it!!! Its a great time of the year to fish the blue water especially off Georgias coast.
Photo by X TA SEA Fishing Team
Baby sail fish Truly an amazing sight!
During this time especially if you get a calm day a blue water run would be in your best catching interest. The reason being is the bite can be as good at this time of the year as it is in the spring. I call the blue water bite during this time a reversed situation! The reason being is fish are doing the same thing that they do in the spring as they do in the winter migrating while making way and feeding while they do it!
Freshies Suggestions
Just in time for the holidays!!!
Bill Vanderford holding a nice striped bass
As we approach another wonderful year, we at Bill Vanderford’s Guide Service, Inc. look forward to renewing old friendships and trying new ways to catch fish. Thanks to you and our many other friends, we begin our 41st year in the guide business at Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River.
Fishing in the lake this past year was excellent in the 21 foot Triton bass boat. Spotted and Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and Stripers have been feeding like crazy, and the Walleyes will be running the upper Hooch during February and March. Along with the Spawning Stripers, Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, and the rare Shoal Bass (Chattahoochee Grand Slam) will be active in the upper Chattahoochee River from March through the rest of the year. Also, the Trout fishing below the lake is always good during winter, but will get even better in the Spring and Summer. All this shallow water fishing is possible with the Special Jet Boat so check your calendars and call soon. New for 2012, we will be taking people on special trips to catch lots of catfish! This is great for kids and families!
As in the past, we offer Gift Certificates for any of our services,we have copies of the books, SECRETS TO FISHING LAKE LANIER or THE NEW GUIDE TO BANK FISHING ON LAKE LANIER. We have both the famous Origninal Swirleybird spinner gift pack, the Saltwater/Striper Series gift pack, and others at: www.georgiafishing.com
Come see us and learn something new in my seminars at the GREAT SOUTHERN FISHING SHOW at the North Atlanta Trade Center (770 279-9899) on January 21-22, 2012. Also, please allow us to again share with you the wonder and beauty of Lake Lanier, and the Chattahoochee during the coming year!

Little Miss Judys Believe It or Not!
Anchors, low tide, Pirates, and Treasure!
This is my good friend and considered part of the family Phil Shirley! Standing next to him is Captain Ali Young of Miss Judy Charters. Phil has a nice fish on and Captain Ali is just about to go into the gaff the fish mode! This picture was taken many years ago and I am sorry to say, I dont know the type of fish that Phil had on, but I do know this, It was a big one for sure!
Anchors, low tide, Pirates, and Treasure!
You are going to love this story. Back in the seventies Captain Alis Young cousin David fished a lot! He doesnt remember the exact year, unfortunately and you will understand later why I feel that way. During his fishing expedition in seventies David and his fishing buddy always fished the Savannah River Jetties area. It was considered a two-part fishing trip, because it wasnt entirely all about fishing! When they werent fishing they went Treasure Hunting! Most of this treasure hunting was done best on an almost low to a little turn of the tide. In other words it was a low tide stage looking event!
Their main fishing and treasure hunting focus took place around the Savannah River Jetty area. During this time this area had lots to offer the fisherman. You could catch a little of everything from red fish to shark. There was another catch involved. You had to understand that this area is where the big ships came in and headed offshore. Fishermen in small boats often learned the hard way about the large amounts of water that a moving ship displaces on a single pass to this area. The good news is that there wasnt much traffic during these times. So therefore during the seventies treasure seekers had plenty of time to fish as well as look.
There was this one time in particular that David remembered. According to the story the tide had gone out so far that they got to see the bottom of the jetties. Now to you the reader that might not seem like a big deal, but to a fisherman it was. The jetties that line the mouth of the Savannah River were made of tons and tons of large rock. Barge after barge off loaded these rocks until a solid rock line was formed on both sides of the mouth of the river reaching about a mile out into the ocean. Its deep between the jetties, because it continuously dredged to keep the proper depth needed by the large ships.
David and fishing buddies always once the tide got low looked for treasures on and around the rocks. The found all sort of discard debris and lots of anchors. On the day of the lowest tide stage ever they found 20 anchors, which surpassed many fishing/treasure hunting days by far. According to the story you could actually walk under the jetties. To get the opportunity to see the bottom that is mostly always covered with water is the desire of most fishermen. I cant tell you how many times I have wondered exactly what the bottom area of the ocean would look like high and dry!
As if this story couldnt get any more interesting it does. David readily brought this subject up, which sent me immediately to wonder land! It was the subject of pirates and their buried treasure.
Pirates must have known from many past experiences the lowest of the low tide stages. The reason being is that this is when they would hide their treasure. Heck, its a known fact that most treasure wasnt never found, because those pirates hiding it never made it back to the designated area. They hid it in places where they could use something as a marking point such as a tree or bank line. Although the jetties were built way after the pirate era, what happened when the lowest of low tide took place proved that there could still be a chance for finding buried treasure from way-out yesteryear!
Barrier Islands especially in this area were probably great places for pirates to hide their treasure. Just think about all the areas that havent been disturbed. Our barriers islands are still un-inhabited. Although this story has been jumping around a bit the bottom line is a simple one. When the tide is at it lowest ever at least for this particular time, things could get uncovered. For you treasure seekers, get out the tide logbooks or get on your computers so as to figure out these low tide pheromones. These are the best time to find the treasures that were buried by those pirates that visited our area!
Heres a pirate short: Back in the old pirate days it was believed that piercing the ears and wearing an earring improved vision. The idea was passed down for year after year. After taking the acupuncture theory into consideration, which does suggests there is a point on the ear lobe that controls the eyes, maybe the pirates were a little smarter than we gave them credit for. Now we know why earrings were so popular during the pirate era! This boils down to the fact that most pirates probably needed eye glasses. Or they thought they should see further or maybe they drank all of the time, which gave than blurred vision. My ears are pierced and I still have to wear glasses! Whatever the case may be a pirates life was not for me! I have rambled enough! If you have made it this far, thanks for reading it!
Heres my line now bite my hook!

Fishing Report November 25, 2011 Lahaina Harbor, Maui, Hawaii
Mike Helland caught a few of great akus that place up a very good combat on light deal with. In the meantime, Sara Funk landed a bull mahi. Each Sara and Mike relished the action.
The Wong family won their fishing journey as component of local radio contest. They used a range of various tactics and bottom fishing happened to be the most productive. The Wongs pulled up a variety of good-consuming fish off the bottom, including uku, papio, nabeta, and taape. Absolutely everyone concerned had a fantastic time on the drinking water.
The Holt group was hoping to catch some fish that they could try to eat for supper. They have been not dissatisfied by this good cow mahi, which was large sufficient to offer a excellent battle and loads of fillets.
The Spencer group caught their ono on a black and pink funnel jet running in the short corner placement. Equivalent to other big pelagic species, onos are quite intense theyre not at all intimidated by the boat and will regularly assault the most significant lures closest to the propellers.
Ed Boll and Tom Hemmerton picked up their great cow mahis whilst trolling alongside a latest line. They also missed a blue marlin in the identical region.
Retta Byron caught a huge cow mahi that tipped the scales at 31 lbs. Retta arrived across her mahi in thirty fathoms of drinking water off Puamana, which is practically a stones toss from Lahaina Harbor. The fish pounced on the small corner tomahawk in what was described as an epic bite.
Amanda and Peter Cozzolino ended up joined by Rob Gazzetta in catching three quality mahis. One of the mahis bit a lure whilst the other two had been caught on stay opelu.
Jeremiah Bouch and Lacey Scott obtained in on the trend of catching good quality mahis. Jeremiah caught his nice bull on live bait whilst Lacey caught her cow mahi on a lure.
These anglers fished difficult in pursuit of mahis but were only able to get 1. Thats the way fishing goes sometimes, but at minimum they caught enough fish to have a scrumptious dinner partly composed of refreshing mahi.
Jeff and Yvonne Kenny had to contend with some wind so they made a decision to fish the inside of ledges and pinnacles. Their plan labored out as they caught a couple of onos.
The choice of bottom fishing is turning into much more common, specially amongst younger anglers. The motion on the bottom is normally pretty regular and edible fish can still be caught. These youthful anglers introduced a selection of bottom fish and held a couple of nabeta, which are extremely excellent to eat.
Andrea Nelson, Amanda Hostetter, Joe Ohradzanski, and Steve Choi finished the day with a mahi apiece. Each angler seasoned the energy of their mahi although fishing at a FAD.
The Hinkel group took advantage of the comparatively late sunrise to catch some opelu at the commencing of their journey. Their bait catching efforts paid out off afterwards as they caught these two mahis on the stay opelus.
The Kranz group fished difficult and returned to Lahaina Harbor with a pair of mahis and a shibi. They had a number of other bites but those fish spit the hooks. Fortunately, the sting of a missed possibility is lessened when there are already fish on the boat.
The barracuda, or kaku, is not specific and for that reason isnt caught on most trips, but Lyle and Betty MacLean somehow managed to get quite a few kaku bites. In general, barracudas are not regarded as to be excellent-eating. The captains family, even so, likes to eat kaku so this one was stored for the table.
David Kim was baiting the within pinnacle known as key spot when this mahi grabbed a bridled opelu. The strike was truly element of double bite but the second fish thwarted the fishermen by staying away from the hook.
Mark Weiss and Glenn DeMar fished the waters north of Lahaina. They commenced with live bait at a FAD and hooked a nice tuna and a mahi. Unfortunately, the tuna spit the hook following about fifteen minutes and the mahi shook itself free right after a couple of minutes on the line. Mark and Glenn settled for a couple of akus and a pair of shibis for sashimi. The anglers hooked their consolation fish, a 33 lb. ono, whilst trolling in 30 fathoms of h2o off Kapalua.
Alec and Brady Penning caught a kawakawa and a mahi. Both fish strike a little lure that was running far powering the boat.
The Halpin household went bottom fishing and caught an array of fish. A single of the fish, a moano, was employed for reside bait. Sean Halpins trumpet fish couldnt resist the helpless moano and ended up on the back again deck ahead of becoming unveiled to combat another day.
A funnel jet on the long corner was crushed and then taken for a journey. The reel screamed as line peeled off the spool. Wayne Blake responded speedily to the ferocious bite and fought his good bull mahi all the way to the boat.
This younger angler invested a tiny bit of time in bottom fishing and caught this nabeta in addition to the other fish that he unveiled.
Kimball and Gerad Cottam were delighted with their cow mahi. A bull mahi to complete the pair would have been nice, but that fish was basically not in the cards.
Don Karbonics mahi came charging in on the long corner lure. The fish missed the synthetic lure and a organic bait was quickly pitched into the drinking water. The mahi reappeared to consider the lifeless opelu and Don built positive that the fish wound up on ice.

LAKE LANIER IS DOWN 12.92 FEET, THE CREEKS ARE SLIGHTLY STAINED AND THE MAIN LAKE IS CLOUDY & 60 DEGREES.
This Lake Lanier Bass report is from Jim Mathley, www.jimboonlanier.com 770 542 7764
Spotted bass fishing is very good. We have been focusing on creek pockets and main-lake rocky banks for the majority of our fish. The water above Brown’s Bridge is warmer than the lower lake by about 1.5 degrees. The fish above the bridge seem to be relating to cover much better and are easier to target. Many of the fish in the lower lake are schooling at the mouths of creek pockets and feeder creeks. The stripers and the spots can often be found schooling together, but they don’t seem willing to come up for baits. If you can get a topwater bait, fluke, or jerkbait into the fish when they are busting, you will catch them. Our best baits over the last week for the fish that are relating to cover have remained the crank baits, shaky head worms and the jig. We are using a deep diving crankbait and throwing it very shallow thus making it bang and deflect off of cover which is producing most of the strikes. A medium running crankbait is working in the stained water pockets and the backs of creeks. Look for the jerkbait bite to pick up all over the lake when the water cools another 5 degrees or so. There are fish out deep relating to the timber, but there are also many very active fish shallow around the lake that can be found in 10 feet of water or less. We found several fish very shallow on open banks this week, particularly when the wind was blowing into the bank. Stay on the move to find areas holding bait fish and concentrate on those areas. Keep an eye on your Lowrance electronics as you scout for good fishing areas. Move back further in the creeks and out on points and look for the bait balls. Where there is bait, there is or will soon be fish. Once you find a creek, pocket, or main lake area holding bait and fish, you may have success by rotating that area with other areas you find holding bait and fish. Fish move up and down in the water column throughout the day, and in the same context move from deep to shallow. Given that, if you have success at one point in the day in a particular location, you may return again later and enjoy further success in the same area. This Lake Lanier Striper report is from Captain Ken West and Captain Mike Maddalena of Big Fish On! Guide Service, 404 561 2564. www.bigfishonguide.com
Striper fishing is good. The majority of the bait has moved into the creeks and the stripers are following. Target the creeks with a high concentration of bait and focus on nearby flats and points. Start out early with a "spread" of planner boards, free lines and a couple of down lines. Vary the distance of your baits behind the boards; keeping the bank side planner boards shorter than the deep water side. I usually start with a trout on the outside boards and herring on the inside boards and behind the boat. After the first couple of hours move to deeper water and weight your baits with a couple of split shots. The birds are late this year but they should be arriving in force this week. Keep your eyes open for diving birds and ensure you have a 1/2 oz bucktail with a trailer tied on to cast. There are fish in every creek with a high concentration of bait. However the south end has been the most productive. Bald Ridge Creek, Flowery Branch Creek, Four Mile Creek and Flat Creek are good places to start. On the north end of the lake try Ada, Gainesville, Little River and Wahoo creeks. Check with US Army Corps of Engineers web site to find a list of the ramps that are open before going out. Due to the low lake level a significant number of ramps are closed.

WEST POINT LAKE IS DOWN 12.23 FEET, STAINED & 64 DEGREES
Bass fishing is good on points in Yellow Jacket Creek. Up river dark jig and craw worms on the heavy bank cover or a buzz bait can get a strike. Stay close to the river current on points at 5 to 10 feet. The long 3 foot leader on the Carolina rig and a full one ounce weight can work mid day on the road beds and pond dams down lake. Poes 300 crank baits in bone and blue and green colors are fair on light line on points. Shad Raps are fair in the shad and bream colors on 10 pound test line. Rat L Traps in the chrome and blue back has been fair in the middle of the lower lake creeks all day. Cast them right on the bank and hit the old pond dams. Use the dark Culprit green shad worms in the grass as tight as possible can draw a strike. In the backs of the creeks early use a use a floating Culprit worm in dark colors over the grass and wood cover.

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 10.3 FEET, 65 DEGREES AND CLEAR
Bass fishing is fair but stay down lake. Use the small craw worm on a light sinker along with the jig in dark reds or blacks. The blue and black jig and pig combination can draw a big fish late in the day. The lower lake bass are slow. Stay with pumpkinseed Zoom u tail worms and a Texas rig on points in the creeks at 12 feet. Work any soft lures or live baits slowly. The best action is just before dark on docks and rocky points. If the wind is down, use the black Zoom trick worm on a super light Texas rig. All white Mini Me spinner baits are working but be sure to find the warmer waters in the lower lake creeks. See our web site for the Rods, Reels and Lures for Bass DVD on sale.

LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 10.12 FEET, CLEAR & 61 DEGREES
Bass fishing is fair up and down lake. Go to the lower lake creeks and close to the stain lines and use a 3/8 ounce Bulldog spinner bait with large silver willow leaf blades. Cast to any bank cover and work the lure right around bank cover. Afternoons are better as the water warms up. Use Zoom trick worms in green or June bug and cast around docks down lake and let the bait sink. Add some Jacks Juice scent in the Zoom bags for some extra time to set the hook. Use a dark Stanley jig in black or browns and a crawfish Uncle Josh trailer, in matching colors can get strikes, but fish the baits slowly. Swim the pearl Zoom Super Fluke around any wood or on any dock that is still wet. The Bass Fishing Lake Hartwell guide is for sale. Ask for a free sample via e mail. Lake levels are from www.lakelevels.info/?StateID=GA

CLARKS HILL IS DOWN 9.9 FEET, 61 DEGREES STAINED
Bass fishing is fair and with the lake levels dropping pick any of the stumps and wood apart right on the creek banks. The bass will hold right on the deep side and will be tight on cover. Look on the heavy brush on points and docks on the lake. Down lake use the Bass Pro Enticer jig in black and blue or all black 1/2 ounce jig and a larger Pro Pork Trailer by Uncle Josh on the heavy cover. The Zoom water melon seed lizards on a Carolina rig is a good choice fished slowly. On creeks on old channels, use a Culprit green shad worm on a Texas rig with the tungsten weight and a glass bead for the extra sound. Work baits right on the bank around any cover and off the sides of points. Later each day, work the creek banks and use a Shad Rap or a Rat L Trap in the shad colors casting anything to the bank cover.
November 24, 2011
LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 2.6 FEET, CLEAR & 62DEGREES
Bass fishing is fair and there are not a lot of anglers on the lake. Bass are in the backs of the creeks lake wide and use the Lowrance Structure Scan technology to see the creek ledges where the fish are holding. Later each day on rocky points, use crank baits in blues and shad colors. Add a jig and pig combination for all day fishing and head into the backs of the major creeks. Look for any warm water flowing into the creeks. The Bill Norman Little N is working in a stop and go retrieve and dont hesitate to cast this lure right on the back. On any lay down work this lure through the trees as slowly as possible and tick the lures off the tree limbs. Also use the larger Stanley jigs in the 1/2 ounce sizes with brown, dark blue and black combinations. Add the larger Uncle Josh Pro pork trailer and work every limb with this lure as well. See our web site for Rods, Reels and Lures for Bass DVD on sale.

LAKE SEMINOLE IS DOWN ONE FOOT, CLEAR, 65 DEGREES BY MATT BATY
Bass fishing is fair. There are bass after the lipless crankbaits on the main lake. To cash in on this bite, you need to use a Spro Aruku Shad 75 in old glory color on 20 lb. Sunline fluorocarbon. The best places to fish the bait are on grass points on the main lake. The grass has actually started dying back already, and in some of these places it may be underwater. This is where your Lowrance electronics especially with a Navionics chip will aid anglers find humps and points. This time of year, the fish really just prefer a steady retrieve with the bait. Another pattern that is working well is to fish a spinnerbait in these same areas or a soft plastic jerkbait. A good spinnerbait to use is a 1/2 ounce Strikezone Lure Company Edgebuster spinnerbait in chartreuse/white or bumble bee. The best soft plastic jerkbait to use is a 6 inch Big Bite Baits Jerk Minnow in glow silver on a 6/0 EWG Gamakatsu Hook. Learn how to use the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology with Southern Fishing On the Water fishing schools.

LAKE GEORGE IS DOWN 2.94 FEET, 72 DEGREES AND CLEAR
Bass fishing is fair and head to the creeks. Use the jig in all black and a black pork trailer and see how the fish react to shallow wood structure with this bait. Use a larger dark u tail worm on a Texas rig. Larger jigs with a pork trailer will work on the docks. These deeper docks have new brush and the fish have to force fed. Pitch and flip worms or jigs around and in this heavy brush. Look for any brush on the points and docks on the lake. Down lake use the Enticer black and blue or all black 1/2 ounce jig and a larger Pro Pork Trailer by Uncle Josh on the heavy cover. The gourd green u tail Zoom worms on a Texas rig is fair. Concentrate on any wood early then move to the grass beds later in the day.

LAKE WEISS IS DOWN 4.01 FEET, 53 DEGREES & CLEAR BY COLLINS GUIDE SERVICE
Now available for sale 50 of my proven GPS waypoints for off shore structure for Bass and Crappie fishing on Weiss Lake, Alabama. E mail ken@havefunfishing.com
Bass fishing is good and the largemouth bass are really biting great and have moved shallow in the coves and bays, look for any brush or stumps in 4 feet of water or less. Shallow running crank baits, spinner baits and Rat L Traps in shad patterns are working great. Spotted bass are on main lake points and secondary points and humps, road beds and shallow river channel ledges, soft plastics like the Senko worm in green pumpkin with a chartreuse tail is catching a lot of good spots. The upper Coosa River is also producing some great bass, the spots are out on the main river channel chasing shad, shallow to medium running crank baits are working awesome on these aggressive fish.
Striper fishing is fair and they are showing up in the main lake on river channel ledges 8-14 feet deep. Live shad down lined and free lined, trolled slowly on the old Coosa river channel is producing best.
Crappie fishing is Good and a lot of larger crappie have shown up on the old river channel ledges in the main lake and Little River and the Chattooga River, spider rigging with minnows 12-14 feet deep is really producing some good fish with a lot of under size fish. Look for the fishing to really get hot over the next few weeks. The crappie have started moving away from the docks, but they are still holding a lot of smaller fish. The upper Coosa River is starting to turn on. The crappie have moved out to the main river channel in the stumps and log jams.

LAKE SINCLAIR IS DOWN 1.51 FEET, 68 DEGREES, MOSTLY STAINED.
Bass fishing is fair and the fish are hitting buzz baits and spinner baits early in the morning, mainly in the central and upper lake. Some larger fish will take a one half ounce tandem gold blade Stanley spinner bait or a one half ounce buzz bait, both with white skirts. Blow downs and brushy docks located on or near the main river and creek banks are now working as more of the big fish are leaving the spawning flats. Some of these fish won’t hit until several casts have been made to the same dock or blow down. Wake the spinner bait over the cover before slowing down and bumping into it. Later in the morning, try slow rolling a one quarter or three eights ounce spinner bait around brushy docks, under water stumps or blow downs. Work the bait out to about 8 feet deep and try to keep it within inches of the bottom. Texas or Carolina rigged worms and lizards are also working in the same areas. One half ounce Rat L Traps in chrome blue and Carolina rigs are catching fish on primary or secondary points. Down lake in the clearer water, a Zoom Super Fluke will work around any type cover, including docks, until the sun is high. After that, fish worms slow.

LAKE OCONEE IS DOWN 3.1 FEET, 61 DEGREES AND CLEAR.
Bass fishing is good. With the worm weather this past week the fishing has been improving every day. The fish are in the back of the creeks and main lake coves. The fish are on any structure with wood the best. Early in the day a white buzz bait is still working on the sea walls and rip rap. After an hr. or so switch to a small crank bait and fish it around docks and wood structure from the middle of the creeks and coves to the back of the creeks and coves. Watch the back of the coves for schooling fish. A few schools are showing up in the back of the major creeks late in the day. Keep an eye on the weather. Things can change fast this time of year if we get a strong cold front come through.
Lake Oconee Line Side report brought to you by Mark Smith at Reel Time Guide Service. 404-803-0741. wwwreeltimeguideservice.com
Line side fishing is good to excellent. The fish have shown up this past week from the 44 bridge to River Bend. The early morning bite has been off of the charts most days. If Georgia Power is moving water you can run out of bait fast. The fish are starting to school. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools. When you find the fish drop the live bait to them. Down lines are out producing the flat lines this week. We always keep an umbrella rig ready for a change of pace. This is also the time of year that the spoon bite is very strong. Also keep several spoons ready and will fish them with the live bait. Now would be a good time to take a child fishing. Sugar Creek has the Capt. Mac umbrella rigs in stock along with Okuma line counter reels and Okuma striper rods and a complete line of striper gear. They also have a complete line of Zoom baits on hand. If you like to see the Lowrance HDS units in action give me a call and we can show you how it works. You can have an on the water demo. 404-803-0741
Crappie fishing is fair. The crappie are showing up in the middle of the major creek. Live bait is the best bet for loading the cooler. Use your Lowrance to locate the fish and drop a live shad down. Keep moving until you locate the fish. They are scattered all over the major creeks but when you find them they will feed. Remember to come to the 2012 Atlanta Boat show for the free fishing seminars. Mark Smith will be there on Friday and Saturday.

JACKSON LAKE IS DOWN 4.1 FEET, LIGHT STAIN & 63 DEGREES
Bass fishing is fair and the rivers are slightly stained. Work the heavy brush on points and docks on the lake. Use the Stanley dark green or all black 1/2 ounce jig and a larger Bo Hawg pork trailer, on the heavy cover. Cast a dark red and black Texas rigged Berkley Power worm in the larger sizes slowly worked on the docks on the lower lake. The up river bass are better later each day. Slow roll a spinner bait with a dual willow leaf blade combination in golds on points. Use larger dark worms over the grass and around docks can get a strike, but later each day with the warming waters. Sea walls can produce but they should have a dock close by to be more productive. Fishing is heating up!
Sailfish, marlin, dorado and yellow fin tuna have confirmed up in significant figures. Previous week sailfish raises averaged among 22 and 38 per day. Schools of yellow fin tuna had been swimming between the spinner dolphins and averaged amongst ten and 25 lbs. Blue drinking water has been relocating nearer to shore. On a 50 % day trip aboard Furioso, our clientele, Kevin Rowley and household elevated 11 sails, launched nine and caught 3 wonderful dorado in only four several hours. Very last Sunday 6 blue marlin ended up unveiled. The month of December is a fantastic time to fish for sailfish and marlin. Occur pay a visit to us and have a fantastic vacation excursion!

Jody and Susy return to Guatemala and have a great fishing day!
Susy and I received a well deserved day of catching (not fishing) in our very first trip because returning from the States. We are now the following for the rest of the period with our return tickets booked for next April.
Fishing aboard Furioso, we ran to a common and normally productive location. We identified the biggest group of spinner dolphins I have ever noticed and we hoped yellow fin tuna were swimming beneath. But following an hour and a 50 percent all we had to demonstrate ended up two great dorados, one particular pushing twenty five lbs. In spite of all the spinners and probable tuna, we determined to pick up and head more offshore. We ran for nearly an hour with out viewing far more spinners but the drinking water looked blue and we decided to set our lines in the water and troll. Three teasers and two baits went into the spread and in minutes sails had been hitting the teasers. Susy pitched baits, hooked and launched two extremely large sails! We sighted two marlin playing with the teasers but couldnt get them to take in a pitched bait. Right after some time had gone by, one of the trolled ballyhoo got wacked. I dropped the line back again, pondering it was probably a sail and to my wonderful shock ended up hooking a 300 lb blue marlin on 30 lb exam! Fish on! The blue exploded from the drinking water in a sequence of jumps and took the boat entirely about. Following a one ½ hr fight of jumps and deep dives I finally was ready to release the blue. The two of us have been exhausted. In that time the boat had moved 3 miles and we discovered an additional large university of spinner dolphins. It was now 2:forty five pm and we had been 47 miles offshore. We put out two daisy chain teasers, three cedar plugs and that was all we needed to catch 16 yellowfins ranging from 20 to forty lbs. We picked up at 3:28pm, two minutes forward of routine and headed property with 2 good dorado and the sixteen yellowfins packed on ice.
What a wonderful welcome house journey. The area we fished was loaded with bait and in the days given that has been creating many pictures of sailfish and marlin.
Appears like another excellent season in Guatemala! Arrive go to us!
Capt Jody Elswick.

Tiny River
A couple of spot have been caught as properly as some bluefish, flounder, whiting and pompano.
Grand Strand
Flounder: Great. In the creeks, off the seaside and close to jetties the fish have turned on. Pulling stay mud minnows or finger mullet on the bottom, especially close to structure with shifting drinking water, will catch fish.
Charleston (unchanged from Nov. 17)
Haddrell’s Level reports the sheepshead bite has turned on total swing. Redfish bite has been great for the most portion. Reds are schooling in excellent quantities at low tide on the mud flats, but are also even now holding about framework in strong figures. Stay shrimp, minnows, Gulp! jerkshads, and ZMAN PaddlerZ have all been alternatives for baits to toss to them. The fall trout bite has still been a small little bit inconsistent, but Haddrell’s Position studies anglers trolling delicate plastics alongside the financial institutions near high tide and producing fifteen-25 fish in a trip. ZMAN MinnowZ, reside shrimp under a rattle float, DOA shrimp, and the notorious Chicken on a Chain have all been solide bets for tangling with some specks.
Beaufort (unchanged from Nov. 17)
Captain Dan Utley reviews the incoming tide is greatest to fish because the drinking water has started to awesome. Also, the winds have calmed a bit the drinking water is beginning to distinct so artificial baits like Gulp Shrimp in the New Penny shade are working wonderful. Fish the grass edges on the soaring h2o and also back in the grass as the drinking water gets increased. On very low tide Redfish are also starting their schooling pattern and can be caught with 1/4 ounce jigs and a Gulp Shrimp or Gold Spoons. The very best time of the yr for sight fishing Redfish is correct all around the corner.
