Hatteras Jack fishing report Rodanthe 7-18
Hatteras Inlet has been a excellent spot for fishing, but clamming is also productive.
There have also been plenty of clams harvested all around Oregon Inlet. Sheepshead are even now a good wager around the pilings of the Bonner Bridge, as well as some flounder, bluefish and Spanish mackerel.
Little cobia have been located about Ocracoke.
Striped bass have been caught at Oregon Inlet close to the bridge. In the ocean, you can keep two per day in the ocean at 28 entire legnth, but the sound is closed. The bridge is the line and the east aspect is defined as the ocean, and keeping stripers is legal. The west facet of the bridge is the Albemarle Sound Management Place, which is presently closed. Fish the east aspect.
In the surf, the east winds cleaned things up on Sunday, but the southwest winds ended up predicted for this week. This implies bottom fish will be caught on northern Hatteras beaches and the pompano really should show back again up on shorelines south of Cape Level. Theres been some huge pompano landed in the surf on south beaches and Im predicting it will get far better with the wind swap. Sea mullet have been landed across the board.
Offshore, the fleet has been catching plenty of dolphin, with a handful of wahoo blended in. white marlin and sailfish release flags have been flying down at the docks.
