SW FL-Bonita Beach: Redfish everywhere!

:)Winds have been blowing difficult and seas have been tough for a while. People conditions are inclined to curtail offshore fishing. But on Wednesday, 10/26/eleven, I had a group of guys who wished to fish the bay. We timed our trip to coincide with the very best tide conditions, and it compensated off. Don Kalmey, Karl Russ, Terry Thomas and Kent Gregory caught seven redfish, 5 of them keepers at 19 to 21 inches. The group also caught 10 sheepshead, two of which had been keepers at 14 inches. They also released ladyfish, puffer fish and crevalle jacks. All ended up caught on shrimp, fishing all around the islands in Estero Bay.

We had large winds and rain once again for element of this week, but I did get out fishing in the backwaters on Friday, eleven/4/11, on a catch-and-release journey with Rod Knudson and Dave Mercer. we had a excellent morning of fishing, just forward of a windy, calme front shifting by means of the area. We caught 8 redfish, six of them keeper-size, even though we introduced all. We also introduced fifteen sheepshead to 16 inches and two stingrays. We utilized live shrimp for all, fishing the islands of Estero Bay.

Monday morning, eleven/seven, I fished with prolonged-time buyers Steve Spitzer and Jalissa Reever. With four-to-6 foot seas offshore, we scrapped our gulf plans and decided to fish Estero Bay rather. We did well with redfish on shrimp, catching eight of those, five of which had been keepers to 20 inches. We also caught nine sheepshead, like five keepers to 14 inches. We unveiled a 16-inch black drum.

Wednesday morning, 11/nine, I had a quick morning of fishing Estero Bay with Paul Oleff, who had to be back in time for an appointment. But the abbreviated time out there did not quit us from catching eight redfish, five of which have been keepers at 19 one/2 inches each. We also caught five keeper sheepshead to fifteen inches, all on shrimp.

Friday early morning, 11/11, I fished a catch-and-launch trip in Estero Bay with Terry Lischer, her grownup son, Mike Lischer, Jeff Heinrich, and Jeff’s 4 ½ year-outdated daughter, Maddie. A brisk northwest wind of about twenty five knots blew all morning, so we fished the spots that we could stay best sheltered from the wind. Making use of shrimp, we caught and released a keeper–sized redfish, together with numerous sheepshead, some tiny mangrove snapper, and four stingrays.

The picture proven is of angler, Terry Thomas with a 21-inch redfish, caught on shrimp in Estero Bay, on a recent inshore excursion.
