OIFC fishing report 9-23
In an earlier report Rube talked about kings moving in. Effectively yesterday Captain Brant and Captain Steele went to the deep water, trolled and introduced residence some great kings and wahoo. They utilised pogies which are thick in the vicinity of shore from the Lockwood Inlet to west of the Shallotte Inlet. Along on the charter were Chris Rogers, Josh Chase, Miles Chase, Scott Gregory and John Richardson.
I received data from a confidential and dependable source that among three and eight kings have been caught at the Youpon Reffas nicely as some becoming th of Hogg Inlet.

Captain Chris Dew aboard the Carolina Cat headed to about ninety ft deep drinking water and set up for bottom fishing with pogies and pin fish. On this day, previously in the week, Capt. Chris said the drinking water didn’t seem proper for trolling for kings. Captain Chris did say the beach was loaded with pogies.
