outcastfishing.com A compilation of some of the larger sharks my customers and I have battled in the last 10 years. All sharks were caught off Hilton Head on 4 hour charters from our nearshore waters, and some just a couple hundred yards from the beach. All sharks in this video were released, except two; one won the Edisto Shark Tourny and the other was a state record, which turned out to be the largest Blacktip ever caught on the East coast. These clips and pictures really don’t give the sharks size any justice but I hope you can get some idea how truly awesome they are. The species in this video are the Bull, Tiger, Lemon, Nurse, Blacktip and Hammerhead. Most of the Tigers were massive, a few weighing well over 1000 pounds and most were over the 12 to 13 foot range. Some of the Tiger sharks you see are upside down and swimming very slow. These Tigers enter a hypnotic lethargic state when turned over, they aren’t stressed or dead. As soon as they turn back over they take off like a freight train. The Tiger shark in the picture at 0.55 was one of the larger ones I’ve ever seen. It was so massive it looked like a great white. The picture gives it NO justice. The Tiger shark in the video clip at 2:02 was ridiculous, nearly 3/4’s the length of my boat, my charter battled this one for nearly 4 hours and still had plenty of strength. These monsters show up in May and stay through October. A half day charter is all thats needed . www.outcastfishing.com

What’s the best Mackerel Lure!! River 2 Sea, Downsider 200mm??

www.reefari.com Here’s an awesome Spanish Mackerel Lure, the River 2 Sea Downsider lure 200mm. Big lure and even bigger Bib, and get’s down plenty deep. I did have 4 of these lures, but only two now, they don’t last long, and Spanish Mackerel love ’em. Make sure you have at least one in your Tackle Box. We run these lures, on our fishing charters, and great deep divers with massive bibs. We run them in close and under the propwash. Troll about 4 to 6 knots, and you can’t go wrong. They come in a great range of colours, with excellant finish, colours, and owner hooks straight out of the box. Awesome lure and well worth trying on a great range of species including Spanish Mackerel and other Mackerel species, Dolphin Fish, Queenfish, Tuna, Giant Trevally, Barra, Mulloway, Fingermark to name just a few. The Downsider Minnow is River 2 Sea’s deepest running saltwater minnow lure. The Downsider is the lure to reach for when the fish are not responding to surface lures. Its compound bent lip takes the lure deep and stabilisers the tantalizing swimming action. The 200mm is making a big impact throughout North Queensland on the Spanish Mackerel and the Northern Territory with its ability to dive up to 10metres. Run with a short wire trace and braid for maximum effectiveness. At very low speed, the Downsider produces an incredible action at where most other lures would have stopped working. These lures have high buoyancy and back out of snags with ease if trolling for Barramundi

I went out for my first off shore trip June 3, 2009. We left Virginia Beach and headed to the Gulf Stream. We caught five Mahi Mahi, and lost a handful of others. Great times on 30ft contender fishing boat.

www.reefari.com The Mackay Game fishing club had organised a social fishing and camping weekend for Scawfell Island, A large island 25 nautical miles from Mackay with a beautiful protected anchorage called Refuge Bay. Scawfell I believe is one of Mackay’s best kept secret, Beautiful sheltered beaches, great fishing on the shoals out the front, and awesome fringing coral reefs. Scawfell Island is a great place for a weekend, and even camping facilities for those without a bigger boat. Sorry about the wind noise, but definately a choppy day and fishing in Marginal conditions, although the fishing was worthwhile, with some great fish caught and lost. I had a fish for a change and got some nice Nannygai with the best about 8 kilo’s, and managed to fill the esky. The highlight for me was a great 5 way hookup with three quality Nannygai, and a horse Grassy sweetlip and coral trout. Scawfell Island is definately a must on the must visit list, and easily accessable with most trailer boats. Please subscribe for some more great fishing action and tips, Cheers Greg Also check out our new fishing website at http

The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep part 6

In present-day Scotland, an American tourist couple go into a bar where they meet an old man who tells them a story about the Loch Ness Monster. In 1942 Scotland a boy called Angus MacMorrow lives in a large manor house on the shores of Loch Ness with his mother Anne (housekeeper), his sister, a cook, a maid and an old game keeper. Later they are joined by Lewis Mowbray, who comes to work as a handyman in the manor. Angus’ father — a sailor in the Royal Navy — is missing since his ship has been sunk in the war. However, Angus is unable to accept that he may be dead. One day, while looking for seashells in the tidepools (in the movie the loch is saltwater), he discovers what appears to be a large mysterious egg. He leaves it in his father’s shed and returns later to check on it. An unknown creature hatches from it whom he calls Crusoe after Robinson Crusoe, that becomes the fabled Loch Ness Monster. Angus keeps the creature a secret, but eventually tells his sister and (reluctantly) Lewis about it. Lewis explains to Angus that it is a ‘Water Horse’ and that there is always only one such creature: creatures of this species asexually reproduce, and always die before the egg hatches. The next day troops of the 12th Medium Regiment Royal Artillery, commanded by Captain Thomas Hamilton, a friend of Lord Killin, the owner of the house who is serving with the RAF, arrive at the house. An artillery battery is set up near the lake as defence against possible attacking or hiding

Bering Sea Canyons: Deep Scars

In 2007, Greenpeace led an ambitious expedition to explore the largest underwater canyons in the Bering Sea using two 1-person submarines and a remotely-operated vehicle. In this sequence, the team encounters the profound destruction left in the path of a fishing trawler, which has clearcut the corals and other life at 1000 feet below the Bering Sea. Go deepwater bottom fishing for sea bass, blueline tilefish and grouper on the charter boat Poacher out of Oregon Inlet NC

The Encore Fishing Team made a late push to fish the 2010 World Sailfish Championship in Key West, FL. In the process, we decided to add a second station to our 32′ SeaVee to make sure we could be competitive with the rest of the boats in the tournament – most of which were all sportfish boats with towers. Check out part one of the video as we highlight the process of getting the second station built and some of the bait fishing that was done in advance of the trip to Key West. Hope you enjoy it!

Waverunner SHO offSHOre Tybee Island

Just another day playing offSHOre Tybee Island. This is actually myfirst video with the GoPro camera and it held up this time. I definitely recommend using a 40#+ test fishing leader and securing the camera by any means possible! I have lost one camera because the suction mount didn’t SUCK but the situation did!! Of course because the camera was rolling… this is also the first time I have ever been thrown off the Waverunner! TWICE!! If you are going to run offSHOre… I recommend you get a ski-rope, remove the handle and let it fly behind you.

The Atakapa-Ishak people of Plaquemines Parish Louisiana have felt the impact of offshore drilling for the past 75 years. Their land is eroding from saltwater intrusion mainly caused by canal cutting for oil and gas pipelines. The waters they fish are being contaminated by numerous oil and gas related incidents and the air quality of the recent BP spill is contaminating the air they breathe. If something is not done to preserve their 300-year-old village known as Grand Bayou, their cultural identity will be lost forever. Copyright: Jeremy Papasso 2010
