Trophy Hunter Sportfishing Reports 1-2

Yesterday’s Tuna! / Posted by: Kenneth Brown / 12/31/11

We spent Thursday operating the Sirt Chaser for Capt. Barry Daniels and yesterday we had Abundant and the guys on our boat. Thursday proved to be hard fishing. A number of boats covered a good deal of water and lastly identified a number of yellowfins late in the excursion. We ended up with several blackfins and one yellowfin for the day. Yesterday we commenced in which the little bit of daily life was from the day prior to. Fishing was fairly sorry. By mid day we stopped and caught some bottom fish so our men would have one thing to just take house. Our very last energy found us steaming down about fifteen miles to look in a single more spot. It was a very good transfer and we ended up catching a dozen yellowfins following three:00 pm. A late day but a very good spend off and common winter season fishing. A lot more of a hunting game normally but wonderful fishing when you find them. Thanks again for the persistence and I hope you appreciate the fish. Happy New Yr!

These days was a lovely wintertime day on the ocean. Light west wind with temps in the 60s. Lemmie Lee and his family from Greenville, NC did a excellent job catching some nice blackfin and a yellowfin tuna. Annie was exhibiting the boys how to do it with the biggest tuna. We experimented with some jigging but the sharks were taking in the tunas prior to you could get them in. A wonderful time was had by all. Tex’s Tackle fishing report 1-2 Bluefin report

Fishing Report
by Capt. Joe Shute

01-02-2012: Capt. Joe’s now has a new webpage on the internet-web site. &quotCapt’s responses and Occasions&quot. . Well for the bluefin tuna fishermen, yesterday was a quite excellent start off to the 2012 bluefin time of year. It was one of the nicest days you could ask for on the water. Obvious skies, no wind, clean obvious drinking water, a lot of bait and a handful of bluefin around to tug on your string. As significantly as I know from listening to the radio and talking to the men that have been fishing there were only all around 4 ro 5 boats fishing for bluefin yesterday. Capt. Keith Logan aboard the &quotFishing Frenzy&quot hooked up all around 9 am and boated a 87 inch bluefin that cored out at 294 lbs. Congratulations for a good catch. A minor little bit afterwards yet another boat had a eighty wide almost dumped ahead of that braided line reduce into it-self and bound up breaking the line with a loud pop that sounded like a 22 caliber rifle shot likely off. I did not hear about any more bluefin caught yesterday. Hopefully this is the start off of a great 2012 season.

Capt. John sums up

The week completed out nicely!! Happy New Yr!! Well each the “Pretty Work” and “That’s Right” finished the week with tons of action. We located some true good Mutton Snappers in the deep h2o. We also ended up ready to find a number of unwanted fat Black Groupers a couple of Red’s and a 12lb Scamp. Pretty good way to stop the calendar year and the time of year!! The mackerels are starting to bite greater, fish ranging everywhere from 8lb to 30lbs all on dwell bait and 20lb Spinning gear, what a fight!! The Yellow tails had been a tiny challenging, had inadequate anchoring condition, wind against tide. We did mange thou plenty for dinner and the mangrove snapper built a wonderful seems on a number of of the shallow patch’s. The Sailfishing has been a tiny sluggish, viewing fish but they just don’t want to consume, we manged to get a single these days even though mackerel fishing. there’s even been a wonderful exhibiting of some Cobia the final number of days. the climate has served with that lite winds and thoroughly clean h2o, does the trick each and every time. Effectively we are seeking forward to a great week, Standing by.

Oh ya and Ocean City’s Striper fishing has really chosen up the “Lucky Break” had 4 fish about 38&#8243 right now so if your still looking to get out there and catch the Stripers give us a get in touch with!

Unused Stellas for sale

I purchased a few Stellas in New Zealand in 2008, for a Pacific journey that in no way materialised. I feel an individual really should place them to much better use than me.

2 x 20000FA with 20000 spools, 1 x 10000FA with 20000 spool (in influence 3 reels the identical measurement, two of medium pace and a single of higher speed). Two reels are unused, but loaded with new yellow 65lb Tuf Line XP. The other is also total of the exact same line, but has been on a boat Once – even though by no means employed. To intents and purposes the reels are new, unscratched and unmarked. Problem 9.5/10 if you desired to be picky.

They do not have their containers anymore, but do have the neoprene bags, spare handles, instruments and things.

I would like $ 1300 for the a few. Or $ 500 for a single. If a person purchases all 3 I may possibly set a reward lure in the box 🙂

E-mail me in reply, do not PM me remember to. roddy@legendlures.com Make certain you put &quotStellas&quot in the topic line.

Thanks fellas, and Joyful New Yr to you all. That incorporates you, John, and Jer ! grin

Offshore Venice La

I got out for a couple of days appropriate before new many years to examination my boat back again out right after my thirty day period off. All were productive trips despite the fact that we didnt slam the fish on any excursion. Had some good selection trips with grouper wahoo, yellowfin, blackfin, dolphin and amberjack taking a go to to the fishbox. Initial day I had Mike Vales and his sons on the boat. We trolled close to finding up some schoolie yellowfin and blackfins on the plugs and missed a wahoo or two. Completed up with a restrict of ajs on the jiggin sticks.

Day two I had Gordon Richardson and his group on the boat. We commenced out sluggish to the south with a number of schoolie yf and some blackfin to display for our efforts. We headed north seeking for more action but it was slow midday so we started jigging and received 4 ajs and 6 scamp on the jig prior to we started trolling yet again and obtained a single a lot more yf and a wahoo.

Day three I commenced off to the northeast exactly where the hooters had been the day before and discovered dead slow action. Headed out east to a floater in about 700 ft of water and doubled up on bull dolphin the 1st pass a single of which was about 35 pounds. Whilst we had been fighting these dolphin yet another a single showed up and we chosen it up on a frenzy popper. Made a number of much more passes and obtained a great wahoo and a yf just before it slowed a tiny bite. Moved on to the next rig in line and caught 3 schoolie yf off of it prior to the men stated they had ample sushi so we moved over hunting for hooters and obtained two much more off of a buoy.

Beginning searching for far more hooters to the west with no luck

Also posted some fog images for the guys preparing on bringing their boats this winter months. Unless you experience self-confident working and fishing by radar only believe very carefully about pulling your boat. New several years eve fog was so thick I was forty five miles east of the river fishing rigs that I could not even see from a hundred and fifty ft away. I was actually trolling by rigs then possessing to relocate them on radar to get back.

Florida in December

I just put in a week fishing out of Jupiter, Florida on a drift boat and a middle console rocket sled (PM me if you require contacts). The &quotBig Fish&quot bite was so sizzling, for Sails, King Mackeral,Cobia, and Wahoo, that we did not bother fishing shallow for snapper, instead we concentrated on soaking dead sardines in deeper water, 140′ to 180′. I caught 3 sails, King Mackeral to forty lbs, and Cobia to 30 lbs. The weather conditions was best, Florida in December definately Rocks ! Happy New Yr to absolutely everyone !
