In$ufi$hent Fund$ Mako Mania/ Tuna Report

——————————————————————————–

we fished both days of the mako mania and the jersey coast shark anglers with horrible conditions each days. the lack of drift and warm water resulted in four makos 3 blue sharks 3 duskys and 6 tiger sharks in two days. by the stop of the 2nd day we have been disgusted and determined to attempt the scallop boats. i would like to thank the Barbra Ann for there gracious donation of scallops with out them we would not have been in a position to go 18 for 24 in an hour. in reality we in fact left them biting as we have been exhausted from each reeling them in and two days of sharking. we could only deal with our a single under fish however. we also tried live bunker that we had left from sharking and the tuna wished absolutely nothing to do with them. it was a fantastic way to conclude a terrible shark tournament. congrats to American Mustang for the win!

My Turn Report 26 June

Had a large thing going on at operate scheduled for Monday which prevented us from getting into the OCMC Small Boat Tourney. Made a decision that the weather conditions looked excellent enough to try out and fish a half day inshore. Left the dock at 0330 hoping for a initial light bluefin and then perhaps some sea bass.

The moment we cleared the inlet, I was confronted with flat swells and a decisions to make. Determined to consider advantage and run 31 knots to the fifty line south of the Balt. Approach B was to fish a couple of several hours and haul *** back again in. Glad we transformed strategies. Lines in all around 0545 fished till 1100 and ended up with three yfts among 40 and fifty lbs plus a modest mahi. We also pulled the hook on a single and broke one more off when the principal line somehow got caught up in the rigger, or rod holder on the t-best. We had been with Blackjack and a number of other buddy boats when the whites popped up, but had to troll west to get residence…..

All in all, wish we could have fished out the day, but it was fun anyway….perform thing is over, hopefully I can get some fishing time in now.

Great Fish

We had a great trip Monday with coolers of huge industry cod and pollack landed by my guests from NJ. But the catch of the day was when the father and son group of Mike and Mikey hooked and landed a new boat record wolfish for the Woman Diane.

This trophy wolf weighed 27 lbs and measured a bit more than forty&quot. Right after a battle to unhook and a few speedy pictures she was released alive to fight yet another day.

The year is just starting and these are the sort of massive fish I really like to uncover for my friends!

Mahi Mayhem its Pretty Work in the Fla Keys

Fl Keys:
Capt Andrew reports of plenty of dolphin action out of Islamorada with huge weed lines packed with Mahi Mahi of varying sizes. Massive schools of small dorado are punctuated with gaffers and much larger fish mixed in. Plenty of action you need to pick through the small fish to get your shots at the big boys and girls. Once the dolphin action slows down, The pretty Work has been sliding into the reef and filling up the coolers with limits of Flag Yellowtail that have been plentiful on the reefs.

Family Fishing on the reef is an excellent way for the kids to get acquainted with the many species that call the reef home. Kids will have many ways to stay occupied as fishing can be non-stop with snapper, sharks, grouper, mackerel, and barracudas. All this and more make an appearance in the summer on the reef.

Summer fun in the Florida Keys everyone can enjoy.

That’s Right A steady diet of tuna with some Marlin and dolphin mixed in OC Md

Tunas, Marlins and Dolphins oh my…..

Trolling has been the important most days this weeek they had been far more intrigued in the Ballyhos and the scaled-down fish have loved the plastics. We have also commenced to find some a lot more Dolphin starting to show up, I would believe very shortly we will see plenty far more.

The tuna amounts have slowed a tiny but still good action. We have been letting go fairly a few a lot more small Yellowfins as of late and manageing about 7 or so true great keepers 40 to 60 pound fish. The fish have become a minor tricky as of late, the bites have grow to be significantly more lathargic and not in a lot hurry lots of small bites, gets frustrating but if you are affected person it all comes together.

Along with all this fun and action pack days their have been far more and much more Marlins, Whites, Blues and some Spearfish. Looks most days we see a number of and lately its been 5 to 10 a day so it really should be an interresting week. We have had our luck with the White ones as of late, tough going with all that Tuna things in the drinking water.

Please Cease on bye or drop us a line.

Pez Machine Sportfishing — 6/26-27 Overnighter — Yellowfin, Makos, Tiles

We had an overnighter previous night time and we had action correct off the bat! We put the boat on the troll as shortly as we obtained to the canyon and trolled until dark. We boated 7 yellowfin to sixty pounds and introduced 5 far more prior to setting up for the evening.

Drifted along the edge of the lender and had our first bite about 1am. We ended up releasing our initial mako of the evening I’d estimate about 120-a hundred thirty pounds.

Our next bite was the one we needed. Prosperous fought the fish beautifully and I threw the dart right after a twenty five moment combat. We fought this mako on the dart line for virtually 30 minutes before obtaining it shut adequate to subdue it. The mainline broke when the fish took a hard run after it was hit with the dart and we weren’t positive how well it was holding. Every little thing ended properly and we decked the 220 pound mako.

We acquired on the troll at initial light and fought 7 a lot more yellowfins, keeping 2 and releasing the rest.

Did a bit a tilefishing and put 12 tiles in the boat before producing the operate home.

Bare Naked Lady

Modified: 6/27/2011

I had Matthew Malkiewicz, John Colangelo (**** Robin), Bryan Vince, and Steve Morley (Sea Hawk) out on Sunday for a mid array trip. When we started functioning the location we obtained mugged up by bluefish. Following a few of hrs of jumbos sized bluefish and no bluefin, we decided to chum for sharks. Presto the bluefish dissapeared, but regrettably the sharks made a decision not to play. We sat for 5 hrs in a chum slick, chunking bunker, mackeral, blues, squid, and butterfish and all we had to display for our hard work was a generate by school of peanut mahi that wouldn’t bite. Back on the troll we went, and sure plenty of the bluefish ended up all about us again. My Ilanders all have new buzz cuts! I’m acquiring nervous now, it’s getting late in the day and I don’t have a tuna in the box. I am operating my way from the Chicken Canyon over to the Glory Hole and I reach into the Bait Cooler and I come to feel the bare bottom !!! I appear down to see the very last rigged ballyhoo, no Islander, no Sea Witch, just a Bare Naked Woman. As I set it on the eighty International, Zac the new mate timidly states &quotBut it has no feathers&quot, I just looked all around at the mess in the cockpit, torn up Islanders, nicked up leaders, kinked wire, and mentioned this is going to be a very good factor. To say I set that Bare Naked Girl way back would be an understatement, that Bally was in a different time zone, I dumped 50 percent of the reel. That Bally was so significantly back that the European Union was looking at it, and when I attained the Glory Hole, that Lady was leaving the Chicken. I started trolling the edge of the Hole and just then Sing Pow, Shazaam,!@#$ %that rod went off! Steve jumped on the rod, but the fish was so much back the TSA needed to do a pat down. When Steve just couldn’t just take it any more, Johnny stepped up to the plate and took more than on the rod. A short while afterwards, a excess fat 32 inch Bluefin came up to meet the gaff and then we ran for home.

Cheapshot Mako Mania

Tough weekend for sharking, no wind, minimum drift, and warm water. We did what we had to do and ended up taking fifth area in Mako Mania weighing in at 176 pounds.

Saturday was incredibly sluggish only hooking up with 1 fish, which turned out to be the 176 mako.

Sunday we produced the significantly operate to get to the cooler drinking water. Ended up with a big tiger, dusky, and a blue. On the way in acquired the phone from Dave and the crew on the Insufishent Funds that ended up on a great tuna bite. Moved into their place and place 7 bluefin tuna in the boat in twenty five minutes, released all but 1 @ 46 inches. Fortunately we had our JPR rods on board that dealt with the tuna beautifully.
