My Turn Report 26 June

Had a large thing going on at operate scheduled for Monday which prevented us from getting into the OCMC Small Boat Tourney. Made a decision that the weather conditions looked excellent enough to try out and fish a half day inshore. Left the dock at 0330 hoping for a initial light bluefin and then perhaps some sea bass.

The moment we cleared the inlet, I was confronted with flat swells and a decisions to make. Determined to consider advantage and run 31 knots to the fifty line south of the Balt. Approach B was to fish a couple of several hours and haul *** back again in. Glad we transformed strategies. Lines in all around 0545 fished till 1100 and ended up with three yfts among 40 and fifty lbs plus a modest mahi. We also pulled the hook on a single and broke one more off when the principal line somehow got caught up in the rigger, or rod holder on the t-best. We had been with Blackjack and a number of other buddy boats when the whites popped up, but had to troll west to get residence…..

All in all, wish we could have fished out the day, but it was fun anyway….perform thing is over, hopefully I can get some fishing time in now.
