Widowmaker – Wilmington Canyon Longfins…10/23/11

We were able to sneak out once again yesterday for some far more offshore motion before we turn our concentrate on Striper fishing. There was some excellent h2o sitting on the East aspect of the Wilmington and with some encouraging studies from the week of a day troll bite selecting up we decided to head that way. We arrived at first light with the bulk of the overnight fleet still there chunking. We had one flat of sardines on board so we determined to give that a shot and it was properly worth it. We swiftly set a small gaffer Dolphin in the box and an hour or so soon after this we had a double of Longfins on the sardines. A handful of a lot more drifts through the place resulted in one more Longfin on a hammered diamond jig prior to we ran out of bait and received on the troll. We gave it a reliable hard work on the troll doing work more than the Longfin #’s and then up the East aspect of the canyon but failed to have any luck. It did audio like a few boats arriving that afternoon for their Sun-Mon overnighter had a couple troll bites but total the troll bite unfortunately still stays to be non-existent. There is still some time still left to get in on the offshore motion so get out there and get them!
