White Marlin In a 20 Foot Boat!
We were fishing off the Southeast coast of Florida for Dolphin in our 20 foot boat, about 8 miles offshore, when one of our outriggers popped and the line started zinging. We thought it was a Sailfish, since we’ve hooked one before, but we found out later (after it jumped 20 feet from the boat) that it was a White Marlin. Bryan, the angler, locked the drag up and we landed him within 10 minutes. I cleared all of the lines after we hooked him, and that took about a minute and a half. I found the camera, and away we went, so it was truly a 10 minute fight, maybe 11. How big? We’re not sure yet. We think 85+ pounds. All we know for a fact is that he is 7 feet long.
