I went up to Salvo village, component of the tri-village area of Rodanthe, Salvo and Waves, yesterday on my day off to see if I could aid. At the Salvo fire department, they advised me that most of the residents that stayed had most of their homes previously cleared out of carpet and contents that had been ruined. The volunteers have been excellent aiding out all who needed it. I was instructed that ripping out damp insulation and development substance beneath the property were the projects that have been left to do in some homes. So that’s what I and the other volunteers did. What a mess, but a very critical activity to do because of all the mildew and rot that happens with standing drinking water in the floor. I was also advised that when the citizens arrive, there will be a another wave of homes that will want the identical work. All citizens on Hatteras Island were allowed to start returning today at noon by ferry. The operate load will be huge as soon as once more.
