OIFC fishing report 9-19

FISHING REPORT

Prior to the cold front we have been seeing wonderful offshore motion from Wahoo, Mahi and Sailfish. Bottomfishing for Vermillion Snapper in a hundred+ foot was hot and the Gag Grouper ended up starting to move into the eighty foot depth variety. Remarkably there were reviews of very good Spot catches from netters and fishermen alongside the beachfront. Bluefish and Spanish were also plentiful together the seaside as effectively as schools of Menhaden. Inshore, the Redfish bite was very excellent at the Little River jetties and around docks off of the ICW. Since the current cold front, fishing has been slower as the drastic transform surely was a shock. Even so, the Spot run looks to have kicked into substantial-gear, which we did not see at all previous year. I would attribute this very good, early run to Hurricane Irene’s affect on the Chesapeake Bay. The Menhaden colleges are still thick together the seaside, and soon after taking a couple of days off, we have commenced catching Spanish yet again. We have been not able to get offshore due to the winds, but proper now the forecast is looking quite very good for mid to late week. As you well know, cooler weather conditions should imply the Kings arrive to the seaside. With all the bait in spot (Spots, Menhaden and Mullet), the table is set for an epic King bite. I assume the Wahoo trolling to be excellent and the Grouper will be inside thirty miles.
It is time to go! Even fuel charges are decrease than they have been all year. Let us break out of the doldrums and get back again on the water. The OIFC has what you need to catch a lot more fish and we’ll be far more than happy to point you in the right path.

See you on the h2o- Capt. Brant
