Offshore Venice La

Ultimately acquired some breaks in the weather conditions that allow me fish wherever I wished and it was very good. The initial day out was friday for me and I went long and had two bull dolphin in the boat at the 1st spot for my very first dolphins of the 12 months. It was good to see lit up bull dolphin in the summertime instead of oil floating close to LOL. The tuna bite was pretty insane as we had been handfeeding them chum at the aspect of the boat. Also nailed 1 on a frenzy popper and a single on a jig to go with the 8 we caught chunking. All around eleven we known as it a day on the tuna and went bottom fishing. The men jigged up a limit of ajs but couldnt deal with to get any groupers to bite so we rolled to the house with 10 tuna and four ajs. The biggest was 96 pounds.

I had a group in from Ms for the subsequent day and none of them had ever before caught a tuna. The bite had slacked off a small from the day ahead of and we only managed to get seven yf on the chunk and missed a few on poppers. We attempted for some ajs but the snapper ended up too thick and we had to give up on that.

Sun and mon I had the duke Le group in from California and we smacked the fish each days. On the very first day we picked up ten yellowfin with most on the chunk but a couple arrived on lures. Also caught a couple respectable dolphins on chunks. The biggest fish of the day arrived on a popper and weighed in at eighty pounds. The men wished to go jig after that and jig we did. Pulled five ajs off of one particular rig. The highlight of the day was catching two ajs on a single jig despite the fact that 1 was undersized.

On mon they only wished to catch a few tuna and then go bottom fishing. We picked up 4 yf quite speedily and headed north to a spot Ive been fishing difficult and it continues to produce. WE obtained 4 cobia, 5 ajs, and 3 scamps on the jigs. We also obtained a massive gag on a jig that we had to throw again which truly damage.

Yesterday I had a group of biologists who have been operating in venice on the boat for a little leisure by them. The tuna bite was sturdy yet again as effectively as we tripled up twice chunking and had a lot of other bite. Close to 1230 we quit out there with 10 tuna and four bull dolphin in the boat. Experimented with for some bottom fish but the latest was ripping and we only extra 3 fish to the box.
