OCMC Kids Classic – 13yr old Shelby and her First blue Marlin!

Acquired the invite to fish Capt Howard and Josh on the Predator this weekend for the OCMC Kids Tournament. This is usually one of my preferred tournaments of the 12 months to be a aspect of. Nicely the predator has some mechanical issue. Capt Josh Rusky and the Proprietor of the Crush Em ended up great ample to allows us to take their boat. So our crew alongside with Capt Josh went out deep in the Poormans. We had a great 300lb blue marlin leap clear out of the drinking water 10ft behind our dredge and pass up every thing. He moved to the quick rigger, faded and never ever came again.

Afterwards in the day had yet another Blue Marlin arrive in and sniff at each and every bait, teaser and dredge just before settling in on the left brief dink bait. Mate Josh hooked him and received thirteen yr outdated shelby in the chair with the twenty tyrnos and 350lb blue marlin on the other conclude.

Shelby was like a seasoned pro on the rod and we had the release in 8 minutes. She fought him for yet another 30 minutes hoping to get some pics of the fish but as luck would have it the fish only jumped way too far for pics and the 80lb leader parted when josh grabbed the leader for the second time.

Congrats to Shelby on her third location Blue marlin. What a great fish for a wonderful youthful woman.
