Lake Erie Perch Fishing

Not so sucessfull, however highly enjoable fishing trip Chris and I took on May 31, 2009. We were between 4 to 8 miles offshore, not far from Black River, Lorain.

www.reefari.com Mackay’s best kept secret, is Scawfell island and Refuge Bay, Absolute Paradise with phenomenal scenery, great Anchorage, and heaps of reef with some great fishing and boating to match. Also well worth a snorkell, with some great reef and plenty of marine life as well. The southern Side of Scawfell Island is Green Zone, so watch where you go fishing, but I think this also helps maintain great fish stocks, As you can see, even though only mucking around, heaps of fish on the reef we were anchored, where we could see two large coral trout, Caught a baby Maori wrasse, although saw a bigger version, and small reef shark swim by. If you’ve got a boat, well worth staying the night in Refuge Bay, great protection in Southerlies up to 30 knots. Camping is also allowed but you need a permit from National parks, with picnic shelter and toilets ashore. We can run day fishing charters to Scawfell island with some great fishing on the shoals to the north of the island. Scawfell island is about 50 kilometres offshore and a large horseshoe shape, giving awesome protection as you can see in the video. Make sure you subscibe with more fishing and boating videos coming up, Cheers Greg Also check out our Fishing Mackay Webpage at which will help put you on the right track if coming to Mackay. http Please see more info below on Refuge Bay, Scawfell Island Campground features: Granite cliffs line the coast of Scawfell Island, the largest national park island in the South
