MIAMI — Interlux introduced Thursday that the Waterfront Challenge will award $ fifty,000 in grants in October 2011 to organizations to create sustainable waterfront environmental improvements in their communities. 8 grants from $ 4,500 to $ twenty,000 will be awarded to groups in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.

A 5-judge panel of marine business leaders who reveal a passion for safeguarding our waters — with the support of boaters voting on Facebook for their favourite projects between the applications — will pick 7 regional winners to be awarded grants of $ four,500 each and every and a grand prize to be awarded a grant of $ twenty,000. Grant awards will be produced at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2011.
