Hatteras mahis and cobias… Great Fishing!

On Friday, we had Ramon Kent, Paul Jarosh, and their common gang along for the day offshore. Beautiful weather conditions, relaxed seas, quite blue seventy five degree drinking water. We started out off hunting for some blackfins at the rock. Not considerably taking place there. We did catch some wonderful mahi there at the rock initial issue. Didnt see significantly for the blackfins. Caught a couple jacks and alberts on the jig. Then we worked in towards the modify. We started off at the modify from 73 diploma to 75 diploma drinking water at all around the 200 line in 25 fathoms. We pushed down the change and discovered mahi the complete way down. We identified some good mahi fishing with great gaffers. The mahi had been picked about quite tough but we nonetheless found very good bites. Completed off the day at the 100 line catching a blackfin in 18 fathoms.

Saturday, we had Brad Gonsolin along for the day. We started off early and picked up the mahi right wherever we left off. Had a good catch of mahi early and a great deal of bites. Some genuine wonderful gaffers combined in with 1 or two of them heading over thirty pounds. We worked all arounbd the rockpile with a scattered mahi bite the complete way. Stopped at the rock but there was a million boats there and we tried jigging for just a brief 2nd just before moving on. We trolled inside picking at the mahi the total way. At close to noon, Brad and his gang made a decision to consider their luck with cobia fishing. We ran down to Ocracoke inlet and quickly started viewing a handful of cobias. In small purchase we noticed 6 and caught one cobia about 45 lbs. All in al it was a fantastic two days of fishing with a great deal of bites and some great catches.

We will be in Hatteras for one more month before returning to Virginia Seashore for the summer season. The fishing is genuinely fantastic down in Hatteras right now and we have a lot of dates obtainable, like subsequent Saturday. I dont know how I am unbooked for the saturday of memorial day weekend, but Im open for it. If anyones interested, contact me.
