Hatteras in January questions

I am from PA and have only fished OBX when, though it was a blast (restrict of bluelines, a handful of mahi, two citation cudas)! I am a normal on the NJ fishing scene. My brother is finding married in March, I remembered my excellent trip, and we now have a boat booked for one/21/twelve for blackfin and perhaps a shot at a BFT.

The captain described that if they don’t cooperate that day, there are a lot of other choices.

What are the other choices? (I’m guessing AJ, tiles, grouper?)
How need to I prep the boys for this trip? (of the 6, only 2 of us have been to the canyons and the rest are inshore men)
What are the greatest possibilities for citations on this journey? (would be an Great souvenir considering that we never have citations up north)
