Giant Black Sea Bass Rescue – San Onofre, CA
Video of an endangered Giant Black Sea Bass being rescued. The fish was caught in deep water and released by another boat in our area. After the 45 minute battle, and the long trip to the surface, the fish’s swim bladder inflated and the fish could no longer swim. It was essentially pinned to the surface by its own internal flotation. After release, the fish just floated helplessly at the surface, where it would have died from predators, the sun, or a speeding boat. We felt compelled to do something and we had the tools and a plan to help. That is what you are about to see.
