Fishing Report 12-29-2011 Deep Jigging/Trolling
We finally obtained a one day weather window and headed off shore with my son David (in town for the vacations from Miami) and fishing pal Steve Conley. We started out off jigging 1st issue searching for some Cobia and Grouper but only located a couple of modest Jacks. Decided to change more than and try trolling for Wahoo. It did get lengthy I was in the method of setting out the 3rd line when the medium flat line began screaming off drag. David grabbed the rod and landed a great 40 lb Wahoo. It stayed vast open up for the next hour and in no way received all six lines set before acquiring another strike. We had Wahoo, Untrue Albes (6 at a time) and Black bout. The most significant Wahoo fifty lbs hit the prolonged rigger and melted off 300 yards although Steve watched. There is nothing at all like a Wahoo run although trolling. The wind picked up from the SW all around one:00 and the trolling bite slowed down. We moved in to two hundred ft and started jigging. David hooked a modest Jack that turned into a huge shark. Even though we ended up battling the shark Steve landed a 32 lb and a 36 lb African back to again. Decided to head in when the winds picked up to 15 to 20 mph with 3 Great Wahoo, Blackfin and two Africans. The fishing is nonetheless outstanding here when the weather enables.
