FIN HUNTER REPORT SUNDAY
Well I’ve fished this rig for the past three years from the pit and just started running her from the bridge this past Oct. She’s a 1967 Ray Davis 46′ 15’ft beam, only 19 knts but one of the best riding boats I’ve ever fished. Shane/Fin Hunter the owner called and wanted to go fishing. I said have you looked at the forecast? Yea he said but it is going to lay out. Okey doke, if you want to go we’re out of here, called Jason and it’s on. Got to the boat and the flags were laying on the poles. By the time we were at the 25 mile mark the seas were 6-8 NE on our port corner with a few 10’s in the mix. The old girl did just fine. Pulled em back about 30 ftm 440 line 69 deg. Took a spell to find any bait. I found a small clump made the turn to go back and picked a hot dog Black fin. Pushed around a bit more found a better bait ball, started the turn and the bridge pole does it’s thing. Nice little target species Wahoo, Jason sticks the steel to it. Back on the troll. The bait was on the move so it was scratch and sniff for a bit when the lt long starts screaming. Another gator in the box. The FA’s got to us so I moved down the beach. Cruised down to the 390 line Marked some good bait worked it for a bit. I’m looking at the clock, the current is backing about 2.5 knts, seas are still 6-8′ 60, miles from home, thinking this ride home is really going to make me wish I was home in bed with a beautiful Brunette. I make the turn and find the best bait I’ve seen all day, 60 to 120′. I told Shane If there is a hoo here we ought to get bit. I make a turn to go back to it when the planer goes off. Not a slob but a respectable 45 lb hoo hits the deck. I point her back up the beach. We get back to our starting point, start marking bait , things look great. BAM..BAM….. BAM ……BAM……….BAM. WTF, 4 reels screaming. Could it bet the elusive YTF;s…………… Crap, Fat alberts. Point her to the beach one more mystery bite. There is a god, the wind went away, seas dropped to 2-3′ for a nice ride home. Amen, God I love this Job!

Well we finally got a slight break in the weather today and we headed out to the Gulf Stream in search of Wahoos and Black Fin Tuna. Total for the day was 3 nice Wahoos, 2 Black Fin Tuna, and 7 FA’s. Here’s a few pics minus the FA’s which we tossed back.
