Epic Long Range Trip Returns to San Diego

The Royal Polaris returned Friday four/1/2011 from an eighteen day journey with a load not seen in 33 years. The 18 anglers caught 9 yellowfin more than 300lbs (1 away from the record) with the biggest going 333lbs. They also brought back 27 YF over 200lbs and limits of Wahoo. The trip fished as far south as the buffer zone close to Clarion Island of the Mexican-owned Revillagigido Islands. Capt. Billy Santiago, 39, called this a trip of a lifetime. What produced this journey even more incredible is that the average age of the anglers on the Jerry Brown Line A single Slayers charter was 68 years previous. Brown gave out over $ five,500 in jackpot cash soon after promising he would give $ 100 for every 200-pound tuna and $ 300 for each and every 300-pounder.They returned a day early due to lack of room in the holds.
