That’s Right – Ocean City Weekly Recap – Best Fishing in Years! 6/15-6/22

Hands down, this has been the greatest fishing we have had in many years!!!!! We’ve had Tunas, a handful of Marlins and some wonderful Gaffer Dolphins are showing up also. &quotThat’s Right&quot has been sailing each day and we have had some wonderful trips with only one particular sluggish day combined in there. The Yellowfin have been as continual as it arrives. It’s been a small challenging some days but general cover ups most of the time. Yesterday alone we managed nine out of twelve and missed a number of Eyeball bites all in a single shot. There was nothing at all left for them (LOL) so they wrecked me teasers!!! About the previous full week we went offshore most of the time, we did combine in a few days with the Bluefins. They have commenced to display up in larger numbers which has provided some groups with non-stop action. The fish have ranged anywhere from 25 to 60 pounds. It seems that there’s a lot of sand eels and the fish need to begin to settle in and offer a fantastic 20 fathom fishery. The Denny group of 15 yesterday allow go more than 45 fish!!! The youngsters ended up loving it! I am looking forward to a excellent relaxation of the week.

The &quotPretty Work&quot and the boys in Islamorada have been supplying their groups with plenty of Dolphin action as well as a Reef bite that is hard to beat. You just have to place up with the warmth is all!! Captain Andrew has had some good trips this full week, primarily fishing the Reef. The Yellowtails have been a nice size and some good Black Groupers mixed in. The Muttons have been exhibiting up ranging everywhere from 8 to 14 lbs. Captain Andrew tells me the Dolphin fishing has moved way Offshore this week and there would seem to be a large run of little fish. There are a whole lot that we are not capable to preserve, so it is tough to make the lengthy journey. There have also been some Swords being caught day and night. He also tells me the Slammers should be working at any time so hopefully this week they will locate a handful of lunkers!!

Offshore Venice La

Ran a number of trips this full week. Only went out tuna fishing when partly because of to climate and dirty drinking water. The initial day I went out tuna fishing I went to an place I havent fished in very a whilst. I thought I was gonna bomb out when I received there since I wasnt marking significantly of anything at all other than hardtails and rainbow runners but we set up a chunk drift anyways and lo and behold on the 2nd drift we hooked up to a reliable fish and we place a 65 pounder in the boat. Made a few far more drifts and additional one particular good fish to the box. Proper just before we left I hooked a very good fish on a popper but we pulled the hooks about 15 minutes in. Stopped at some closer in rigs on the way in and popped a bunch of mangroves and some red snappas.

On day two I had a group in from texas that needed to just bend the rod as significantly as achievable. Tuna had been the authentic approach but with the bottom fishing becoming so good we went out and slaughtered some fish. WE had a few jigmasters on the boat so they set a hurting on the scamps even though every person else was nailing the red snappers and mangroves. The reds averaged about twelve-15 kilos with the most significant becoming 23 lbs. We also had twenty mangroves and 21 scamps with the most significant scamp currently being 18 kilos.

On day 3 I had a group in from indiana and it was blowing in the early morning so we went to the most protected water and whupped up on mangroves and reds once more. I had caught some stay pogies on the way out so we ended up able to get on the cobias pretty well we kept five quite good cobia and released 4 barely legal cobias to expand up for an additional day.

I had the very same group for day 4 and we did a uturn on the tuna fishing as the waves going south ended up just as well tough. Unfortunatly I just couldnt discover any dwell pogies that day for the cobias so we couldnt get them to cooperate so all we obtained was a limit of red snappers and some fairly mangroves before we referred to as it a day.
