Wow this guy had some big issues with Contender Boats
Contender Breaches Guarantee – Chapter One particular
We have been fishing offshore Florida and the Bahamas for 20 several years and performing tournaments for most of these years. We have held USCG Captains licenses, ran charters, operated air boats, race boats, generally each form of boat there is. Our fishing staff, Bloodstream was a loyal customer of Contender Boats until finally we had a issue.
Our two prior Contender boats had been 31s. We by no means had difficulties with them other than the normal tension cracks that Contenders get. We nevertheless own a 31with a 1000 hrs and it only has the normal pressure cracks that Contender s get. When we made the decision to buy a new Contender 33 is when the troubles commenced. Whilst ordering our new contender, my two partners and I went to the dealership on a day that the VP of Revenue from Contender was present. Our meeting consisted of us three, the vendor salesman and the VP of Profits from Contender (at this stage mentioning their names provides no worth to the tale and only delivers adverse attention to them). They informed us that the Yamaha 300 HPDIs had some troubles the 1st yr out but now are excellent engines. We where told for the duration of this meeting that these 300 HPDIs in which lighter in weight, quicker, just a tad louder and hardly utilizes any oil unless you are WFO. This all sounded quite great and, opposite to what is speculated, our fashion of fishing east central Florida focuses on extended array trips (Tuna fishing eighty+ miles out) where ease and comfort and fuel array and intake is a consideration. To more persuade us to go with the 300 HPDIs they carried out a meeting call to the Contender factory for us to hear initial hand about Joes son who also selected 300 HPDIs for his 33t vessel. For the duration of this phone they preceded to talk about performance quantities that we ought to anticipate to see with our new vessel that the boat would run 65 mph loaded. Associated to long assortment trips and gas consumption this mixture of 300 HPDIs on a 33t ought to get one.three to one.4 at 40-45 mph. This discussion about > obtaining five-seven mph more quickly with the identical gasoline and low oil consumption strongly influenced our selection to go with the Yamaha 300 HPDIs. We in no way observed these kinds of overall performance numbers and noted such on our very first letter to Contender dated July 20, 2007. Be aware right here: This letter and timeline is accessible on timeline or court documents webpage . Also note that this letter is dated July twenty, 2007 and right here we are going community for the first time on Feb 2010

The Billfish Foundation Awards 46 International Tag & Release winners
Awards 46 International
Tag & Release winners
Global billfish conservation competition
critical to scientific research; now in 23rd year
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. USA Every time they fish on three oceans, anglers, captains and mates worldwide — the heart-and-soul of The Billfish Foundations (TBF) eminent conservation program committed to billfish tag and release — are supplying valuable data, critical to science.
Globally since 1990 these anglers have helped marine researchers in learning the migratory habits and more of the worlds billfish species.
On Feb. 16, 46 winners of TBFs 22nd year-long competition will be presented their 2011 International Tag & Release Awards at Miamis Jungle Island Treetop Ballroom. Sponsored by Bisbee’s Black & Blue the awards are presented by King Sailfish Mounts, and include TBF partners American Custom Yachts, Costa and Dockwise Yacht Transport.
TBFs Overall Tagging Winners for all species (blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, white marlin, sailfish and spearfish) included Gray Ingram, Jupiter, Fla., USA, repeating his title as TBFs Overall Male Angler; as did Betsy Crudele, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., USA, as the Overall Lady Angler. Stephen Gegenheimer, Corsicana, Texas, USA, won the Overall Youth Angler and Fin Gaddy, Manteo, N.C., USA, won the Overall Captain.
Ingram also received double honors repeating in the release category of the competition as the Overall Male Angler for all species. Lisa Everett, Nags Head, N.C., USA was the Overall Lady Angler; Tyler Sudbrink, Greensboro, N.C., USA, Overall Youth Angler and Brad Philipps, Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, repeated his title as the Overall Captain.
TBFs Dir. of Science and Policy Peter Chaibongsai, said each year TBF members from more than 70 countries are invited to participate. The latest annual competition ran from Nov. 1, 2010 to Oct. 31, 2011 with tagging data reports and release notification cards generated from the temperate waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, where a majority of the worlds billfish inhabit.
To be eligible to receive an award active TBF members must have tagged and/or released five or more of a species to qualify. In addition, TBFs Youth Program created in 2001, recognizes the conservation ethics and achievements of young anglers. It includes a three fish minimum in three age groupings for both tag and release categories.
For more on TBFs annual Tag & Release program please visit http://www.bilfish.org or call 954-938-0150 for Peter Chaibongsai (ext. 107), Elliott Stark (ext. 101), Deborah Cummings (ext. 106) or Andrew Cox (ext. 100).
