Canyon Runner v. Killer Whales – Not a Fair Fight – Also 1 Spot Open on Friday
This report is from Capt. Mark DeBlasio
————————————–
I can only say I have by no means observed anything at all like it … We identified the bluefin excellent these days, with 9 bites, seven of which arrived tight. Of people 7, we brought a 71", eighty", 82" and 86" fish to the boat, with the Orcas providing us hell on three of individuals four. They managed to eat 1 other bluefin appropriate up to the head before I produced my "anti Orca" tactics and we pulled the hook on a single close to seventy five" in close proximity to the boat and broke yet another one particular of when the braid acquired buried in the spool. On the 48, they had some bites and managed to get an 85" or so fish boatside, then acquired spooled on a 70VS and lost a number of to the Orcas. It was definately a Nat Geo sort of day. At a single level some two tone dolphins swam proper into the pod of Orcas and we anticipated to see a bloodbath … it did not materialize and the two tones swam absent fine .. ought to be some sort of "mammal etiquette".. I have some more pics coming , but for now I wil publish a few of what ws left of a bluefin after the Orcas took a bite
