Awesome Florida Keys Fishing Right now! – 3/1/11

The week could not have gone any better!! The weather down here has been outstanding with a lot of sunshine and relaxed seas. About the last week “That’s Right” spent lots of time on the water as we had rather excellent fishing all week long. The King mackerals have been snapping and there sure have been some real wonderful ones currently. We caught many Smoker Kings with the greatest of the week getting forty kilos caught by Gary McQuitty. And his daughter caught a MONSTER Black Grouper pushing an easy 40 kilos, which was released alive and effectively. We also had some good Mutton bites out in 140 feet of water and pulled on some a lot more Kings.

The shallower reef edge was alive all week and 50 to eighty ft was the ticket. Plenty of nice Flag Yellowtails as nicely as the smaller assortment, which was a great time on 10lb check. Even so, we lost our share to the rocks beneath. The guys fishing the bottom observed plenty of motion with Mangroves in the four pound course and some good schoolie Muttons all on cigar minnows and sardines. The chicken rigs worked wonders on the Porgies and Hog snappers they just adore the dwell shrimp. We even managed to catch a Cobia or two even though anchored up which is usually a great bounce. The Gotchas are even now making lots of Ceros and some Spanish Mackerels. Over-all the week developed some real top quality days with some very wonderful catches, we all left pleased and full!!

We managed to have fantastic weather conditions all week long here in Islamorada. On board the &quotPretty Perform&quot we had a extremely great week for the kings with a combined bag of fish just about everywhere from 10 to forty kilos all caught on stay cigar minnows. On Wednesday and Thursday Captain Clyde climbed up in the tower to run about in the shallow waters looking for Cobias and we caught plenty. There ended up a good deal of modest fish but it was even now a great combat. On Saturday I took out the &quotPretty Work&quot and focused mainly on sailfishing. We started off our day working around the Eagle Wreck catching one particular good king but no sail bites. By 11 am we made the decision to transfer in and chase some bait showers around. When up in the shallow drinking water we did see two sailfish neither of which we would eat. With only an hour left of our day we moved offshore of the lighthouse and elevated yet another fish but then he shortly faded absent. Captain Clyde was in the back country with Peter and Maggie Karmen from right here in Islamorada and noted an superb day of Trout and Pompano as properly as one hundred Reds with 30 being on fly!!
