coating for hooks ????????

After I rinse off my lures that I use for off shore trolling I think it is a good idea to coat the non-stainless hooks with some defense. What to use ???? WD forty (I noticed it has fish oil and can truly be an attractant) silicone spray, olive oil cooking spray ?????????
