Jody and Susy return to Guatemala and have a great fishing day!
Susy and I received a well deserved day of catching (not fishing) in our very first trip because returning from the States. We are now the following for the rest of the period with our return tickets booked for next April.
Fishing aboard Furioso, we ran to a common and normally productive location. We identified the biggest group of spinner dolphins I have ever noticed and we hoped yellow fin tuna were swimming beneath. But following an hour and a 50 percent all we had to demonstrate ended up two great dorados, one particular pushing twenty five lbs. In spite of all the spinners and probable tuna, we determined to pick up and head more offshore. We ran for nearly an hour with out viewing far more spinners but the drinking water looked blue and we decided to set our lines in the water and troll. Three teasers and two baits went into the spread and in minutes sails had been hitting the teasers. Susy pitched baits, hooked and launched two extremely large sails! We sighted two marlin playing with the teasers but couldnt get them to take in a pitched bait. Right after some time had gone by, one of the trolled ballyhoo got wacked. I dropped the line back again, pondering it was probably a sail and to my wonderful shock ended up hooking a 300 lb blue marlin on 30 lb exam! Fish on! The blue exploded from the drinking water in a sequence of jumps and took the boat entirely about. Following a one ½ hr fight of jumps and deep dives I finally was ready to release the blue. The two of us have been exhausted. In that time the boat had moved 3 miles and we discovered an additional large university of spinner dolphins. It was now 2:forty five pm and we had been 47 miles offshore. We put out two daisy chain teasers, three cedar plugs and that was all we needed to catch 16 yellowfins ranging from 20 to forty lbs. We picked up at 3:28pm, two minutes forward of routine and headed property with 2 good dorado and the sixteen yellowfins packed on ice.
What a wonderful welcome house journey. The area we fished was loaded with bait and in the days given that has been creating many pictures of sailfish and marlin.
Appears like another excellent season in Guatemala! Arrive go to us!
