I operate for the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) and hope you can support get the term out on something that is going to have a key effect on administration of the species the Council manages: summer flounder (fluke), scup (porgy), black sea bass, bluefish, Atlantic mackerel, squid, butterfish, spiny dogfish, tilefish, surfclam, and ocean quahog. I posted this to the major fishing forum but thought it could be very good to publish here much too.

Now that most of these stocks are rebuilt (see graph below) the Council has just introduced a special initiative to establish a new long-term method for its fisheries. Given that most individuals never have time to occur to meetings, the Council is presenting a quantity of techniques for you to offer input, including the chance to fill out a basic survey and species-particular surveys. This is an superb way to let the Council know what is working and what is not operating in fisheries that are crucial to you. It only takes a few minutes – You can website link to the surveys, come across other methods to get concerned, and find out far more about the venture right here: http://www.mafmc.org/eyesight/. If you have any inquiries I will be checking the board frequently or you can get in touch with Mary Clark, the undertaking lead, at 302-526-5261 or mclark@mafmc.org.

Thanks,
Jason Didden
