OCMD LEGASEA report from Sunday…pulling hooks, need some feedback

Okay, I debated submitting this due to the fact I def produced my way to the barn Sunday night time with my tail in between my legs. We had a first rate day action wise, but I basically could not preserve a hook in a fish. We began at the dog and had a 40-50lb yft in the box pretty quickly and then hooked up with one more shortly thereafter. Fought the fish for ten min or so and pulled the hook. It got crowded at the puppy so we trolled east. Received some excellent reports and determined to operate to the Balt and set lines in about 90fa on the 225 line. I had some first rate marks and labored a 1/four mile square and had a shot at three whites in about two hrs. Hooked the first 1 as he piled on the left long and pulled the hook right after about 30 seconds. The 2nd I couldnt get off the spreader bar and he wasnt noticed yet again. The 3rd came in hot on the correct short, good drop back again and hooked him up. Got a few jumps and then he arrived unglued. Stopped again by the puppy soon after the boats left and had four bites in about an hour n a fifty percent. TONS of bait and birds and only two other boats with me. We hooked all four fish and pulled hooks on all four fish. One was almost in gaff variety when I noticed the hook pop out…the other we pulled off right after combating everywhere from 5-15 min.I know there will be days like this, but I cant help but be all varieties of annoyed. Lets leave circle hooks out of this discussion for the time becoming. I am using 7691dt mustads. My 50s have 14lbs of drag at strike and my 30s are about 9lbs. Quite rarely will I push the drag past strike, specially with an inexperienced crew. WHAT IS Heading ON?!?!?! I could use the boards suggestions or recommendations on why Im pulling so several damn hooks.
