FLY540 AND EAST AFRICA SAFARI EXPRESS WATAMU FISHING

Coastweek– Malindi based boat “Snark” fished by Adrian Paul (skipper), Andy Atkins and Adi Mohamed headed a fleet of 21 boats to win the Fly540 and East Africa Safari Express Watamu Fishing competitors by the hand-some margin of eighty points.

At the stop of the first day “Instedda” skippered by Ali Al Harazi and fished by Imran Moosa was in the lead but “Snark” had an amazing 2nd day catch which integrated a kingfish, and a sailfish and a striped marlin which were tagged and released.

The victory by “Snark” was warmly celebrated by group member Andy Atkins who visited Kenya from Britain to take part in the Watamu Fishing Festival.

Previous rally driver and boat proprietor Rob Hellier was very favoured for 1st spot in “Unreel”.
