Offshore Venice LA

Been fishing a good bit just lately as the fishing has stayed consisently very good. Lots of fish busting all around the rigs alongside with a massive and often frustrating amount of bonitos which is somewhat strange for the floaters. We definitly caught a lot more then our share of bonitos on topwaters and jigs.

I even fished the days that don was coming across the gulf and did well then as well in some actually large swells. Virtually all of the fish I caught arrived on live hardtails with a handful of on poppers and a couple of on chunks. I had to go as light as 40 pound leader with the boat targeted traffic a couple of days but largely stuck with 60 and 80. The hardtails have showed up largely everywhere with there currently being plenty in the desireable 4-5 inch range.

I did operate 1 overnighter and the night time bite was definitly slow although we caught a couple small yf jigging and some blackfins on the chunk at 1st light the bite went off though and we had a killer topwater bite among 630-730 in the early morning.

I didnt see too numerous dolphin close to and kinda left the amberjack by yourself as the tuna bite was powerful.

I am seeking ahead to another week straight of fishing in stunning venice la.

I have a lot of openings in september and hopefully this great summer operate continues into the fall.

The potential ill weather in the Atlantic has had no effect on the fishing! Great white marlin bite for our offshore boats, lots of catch and release whites today. In addtition to the white marlin releases today we also had some sailfish released and a few limits of dolphin brought in to the dock. A few of our offshore fleet had some good luck with yellowfin tuna today too. Nearshore we are still haveing very good luck with the Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Our inshore boats had some keeper specked trout today and a couple of cobia were reported as well.

A great tuna and dolphin day at the Gulf Stream. Those that went after tuna found them. At times there were four on at a time. Those that went for dolphin also found their quarry and had time to get in on the tuna fishing as well.In the last picture the young lady proudly shows off the wahoo she caught. The wahoo is what you call a classy spectacular fish. I should have gotten her name. Inshore Lots of tailor bluefish, spanish mackerel and some bonita.Open boats engaged in various types of fishing. One caught some really good size speckled trout, another caught and released blacktip sharks, caught and kept bluefish and dolphin, another caugt 3 cobias. Miss Oregon inlet caught croakers. It the first picture is a party from Pennsylvania Bob Cassadie from Monroesville, James Pettit, Ashley Eicheldinger, Mark Ciufo and Shawn Dapra all from Pittsburg. James’ bigeye weighed 137 pounds, Ashley’s 153 pounds, and Shawn’s 115 pounds. These big tunas gave everyone a thrill. They took quite a bit of line off those big reels. The second picture’s party consisted of the Fields family and friends. Hamp fields Jr., Mary Fields and Mike Fields all from Columbia, Maryland, Hamp Fields111 from Baltimore, Mike Morrel from Pasadina, California and Craig Towner from Savanna, Georgia.

Red Drum Tackle fishing report Buxton 8-8

Week Finish Report by Bob!
The wind switched about and then back to southeast and then southwest yesterday. The water acquired a minor cloudy which slowed the spanish bite a minor but I anticipate they will just take off yet again this afternoon. Sharks are nonetheless about and like the spanish the very best of the black tip motion is dependent on the obvious water.

The huge pompano(which I thought had migrated north) are even now with us. Again to weighing a few each day. Some truly great sea mullets are on the two sides of the seaside alongside with croakers, spots, and a few good flounders. Will not neglect the jetties!

Soundside has an growing volume of speckle trout and the two the size and amount are heading up. Gulp baits carry on to dominate.

Offshore is type of hit or skip right now. If you find some thing to bail dolphin out from under then you can get a limit. If not probably it will be a zero. A couple of wahoo, blackfin tuna and often a excellent marlin bite dependent on the drinking water.

Greatest,

Bob Eakes

Sunday Fishing Report
A lttle sluggish this early morning but the Bluefish showed up early this afternoon and are being caught on the two metal and bait off Ramps 43 and 44. Rumor has it that Doc River and his crew of experts are still catching massive Sea Mullet and little Pompano in the Narrows. Sharkers are doing well on South Beach and with the wind swap to SW, the Spanish ought to return this night.

Inshore boats report Sea Trout and Bluefish. No Offshore report – Grumpy.

Monday fishing report by Dan
Windy SW winds manufactured the h2o dirty and the puppy drums biting. The point and south seashore place were the area to be to get in on the drum bite. Ramp 43 and 44 had sea mullet, spots, croakers, and pompano. Flounder ended up identified at the jetties, but most have been undersize and had to be release.

Tiny boats fishing at Hatteras inlet had speckled trout, gray trout, bluefish, puppies, and flounder.

Dan

At closing, studies arrived in about spanish and bluefish at the stage this evening.
